Job Description

One of our best clients has a need for a Cost Analyst to join their rapidly growing Data Center construction team. You have a chance to be a key player in their technological future, as part of a team of innovative professionals shaping their built environment.

Under the leadership of Program Managers, the Cost Analyst will work with internal and/or external parties and systems to investigate, extract, analyze, and report on large program level data center construction projects.

You are a Cost Analyst with experience in the construction industry, and have a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience working on large-scale Data Center, Commercial Real Estate, Manufacturing and/or Healthcare construction projects.

Job Objectives

Issuing RFIs and chasing responses.

Analyzing existing cost data and producing benchmark information.

Weekly reporting to the client.

Meet and negotiate costs with contractors.

Reconciling actual costs with contract pricing.

Develop cost estimates from drawings and specifications.

Provide input into value engineering exercises.

Providing support to the Program Leaders in managing program level data.

Checking project compliance requirements are documented in accordance with client governance policies.

Document control.

Ensure QA/QC is being followed.

Conduct background research, data collection and benchmarking against historical system data.

Undertaking deep dive analysis of live data to identify outliers, trends, and calculate key performance measures.

Analyzing project performance metrics and tracking action plans.

Preparing written project communication materials including charts and presentation decks.

Supporting the production of program level reports for Senior Management.

Liaising with the client and project delivery managers to provide guidance on data management

Respond to ad hoc requests for data and reports.

Being a leader in document control policies and providing support to delivery teams.

Tracking cost review and estimate requests as they are submitted by the client.

Preparing documents as required by the team.

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 3 years post-graduate construction industry experience with a good understanding of the role of a cost engineer.

A minimum of 2 years working experience in data management and deep dive analysis.

Working knowledge of Primavera 6 and Oracle Contract Manager. Basic understanding of SQL queries and methodology to report data to project teams.

College degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.

Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite of applications.

Advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Drive to be proactive and self-motivated.

Ability to develop good working relationships with project teams.

Experience with client specific systems.

Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be a team player.

Passion and enthusiasm for construction and numbers!

Strong analytical skills and proficiency using spreadsheets.

Experience using estimating software, e.g. on screen take off, Revit.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive.
