Our client is an international Oil & Gas company based in the UAE, with operations worldwide.
They are currently recruiting a western educated Shutdown Manager for their operations in Ghana as part of the Project Management Team on the project.
The successful candidate should possess an Engineering degree/HND with 8+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas projects /Operations Engineering / Petrochemical projects.
You should have proven supervisory experience with the ability to plan and measure as well as being hands on, experience in a similar role or working on a shutdown and an appreciation of the business impact on a project of a shutdown and the ability and initiative to solve any problems that arise during a shutdown.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage and lead the shutdown team
Assist the client in the setting and approval of shutdown objectives, scope of work and scheduling of all related tasks
Carry out risk assessments on high risk and critical path elements of the workscope
From experience build in measurable contingency plans
Ensure the workscope is fully resourced in manpower, equipment and materials.
Identify in advance any engineering or modification work required by the client during the shutdown period
Liaise with HSE manager to ensure a robust HSE Plan is in place and all high risk task are identified, sub-contractors correctly inducted and strong permit to work procedures are adhered too
Identify any additional PPE requirements and any specialist hazards such as asbestos.
Design an audit programme where you and your team seniors regularly carry out HSE observation tours and this must cover the technical aspect such as flange bolting, scaffold security and excavation protection
Liaise closely with the Planning and Project Support Manager to ensure all core manpower and engineering resources are available against plan
Liaise closely with the Project Services Manager to ensure all sub-contractors personnel, materials, plant, equipment, vendors, special tools, common users services and consumables are correctly resourced and available for the shutdown
